BBC Radio 4: Jamie Cullum’s Piano Pilgrimage

I produced this three part series for BBC Radio 4 in which jazz musician Jamie Cullum explores the role of the piano in modern life in the UK.

Highlights include:

  • Exploring London’s former piano-making hub in Camden Town.
  • Playing the Brontë’s original piano at their former home in West Yorkshire. (Watch the video)
  • Having a sing-a-long with Chas & Dave around the piano in an east London pub. (Watch the video)
  • Meeting two young piano prodigies in Derry, Northern Ireland. (Watch the video)

Along with a behind the scenes blog and tweeting production tips live from a day’s recordings in Derry, the programme was covered by BBC Radio Foyle, BBC Radio Sheffield and Radio 4’s Midweek and Pick of the Week.

Cosy and illuminating.
